AlumatIQ, is a Norwegian high-tech company specializing in robotics, automation – and digitalization solutions for the aluminum smelting industry.

The company in pleased to announce that it has secured 26 MNOK funding to build, install and demonstrate the first automated anode change system in the world.

The development of the robotics system started in 2016 and is currently moving into the commercial stage. The fabrication of the robotic solution is on-going and we plan to start testing in in real industrial environment during 2023.

The robotic anode change system is developed in close collaboration with aluminium smelters involving process engineers and operators with strong domain- and best-practice knowledge from electrolysis and pot room operations. Our development team consists of experts in industrial robotics, automation, electrical and mechanical engineering.

The project has received financing from a major customer, Innovation Norway, Sparebank 1 Helgeland and equity from the investment companies Momek Invest and CoFounder.
